Standard Horizon Marine Radio

Standard Horizon Marine VHF is once again easily available in South Africa. The three offices of SMD Telecommunications each carry a stock of the equipment and are actively seeking suitable resellers.

The models available currently are HF SSB and fixed or portable Marine VHF units. The Standard Horizon GPS/Plotter/Sounders are expected shortly.

VX1700. 125W HF SSB transceiver, ITU marine bands 1,6 - 30Mhz, FC-40 automatic antenna tuner.

VM3500E. Top of the range, fully featured Radio with DSC, covering all channels with 25 watt output and 30W loudhailer built in. Optional RAM+ CMP-25 avaialble for remote operation.

GX1255S Quest. 25 Watt FM Marine Transceiver, 25 watt putput, DSC functions, and submersible.

HX270E Hand Held VHF. Subnmersible marine 5 watt VHF transceiver supplied with long life Ni-MH battery and charger, dry cell battery pack, belt clip and DC cigarette lighter cable.

HX370E Hand Held VHF. Submersible marine 5 watt VHF transceiver supplied with long life Ni-MH battery and charger, dry cell battery pack, belt clip and DC cigarette lighter cable. Optional speaker mic available,
CMP-460A or MH-57 (waterproof). The HX370 also features programmable private channels to allow integration into other systems such as Port Control, Pilotage or Terminal operations.
